In bed around 11, awake at 3:10 unable to sleep, back and pelvic pain, up at 5:15.  52℉, high of 58℉, rain, wind NNE at 17 mph, 10 to 20 mph during the day, gusts up to 32 mph.  The sun rose at 5:11, sunset at 8:31, 15+19.

Bulwer-Lytton: It was a dark and stormy night.  It looks nasty outside, with wet streets and considerable wind.  Beach Hazards Statement issued by the National Weather Service, life-threatening waves of 4 to 8 feet and dangerous currents are expected today through 4 a.m. tomorrow.  The total rainfall expected today is 0.2 inches.  Not enough.

The Mary Trump Show on YouTube.  We watched the last two shows yesterday.  Mainly it's just a group of Trump-hating Lefties (like me) schmoozing and reinforcing their own beliefs about what a serious danger Trump and Trumpism and the contemporary Republican Party are.  Since we are birds of a feather, they also reinforce my beliefs and fears for the country, especially for our children and grandchildren.  I like it too that the folks on the program call a spade a spade, or more precisely, they call Fascism Fascism, not 'authoritarianism.'

When the looting starts, the shooting starts.  On May 28, 2020, following clashes between Minneapolis police and demonstrators protesting the murder of Geroge Floyd, President Trump tweeted:

I can’t stand back & watch this happen to a great American City, Minneapolis. A total lack of leadership. Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right......These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!

I've been thinking of that line Trump used (but didn't originate)  'when the looting starts, the shooting starts.'  Isn't he a looter?  Isn't that exactly what he did when he left the White House?  Pack up and carry away hundreds of boxes of documents and other stuff that, under the Presidential Records Act and other laws, did not belong to him.  He and his minions looted, plundered, and pillaged the place.  How is he different, e.g., from someone who is hired to watch a store for a period of time and who, at the end of the period, simply steals the contents of the store on his way out?  It's hardly a secret that he has the heart of a gonif.  The Mar-a-Lago indictment proves it.  The unanswered question that hangs over the whole sordid scandal is WHY.  Why did he do it?  Not so much why he took stuff, but why he exerted such efforts not to turn the stuff over after lawful demands on behalf of the government.  I can't believe his actions were prompted by sentimental concerns, a desire to hold onto souvenirs.  I believe he is not only a gonif and a paskudnyak, but also a traitor.  I believe the super top secret compartmented intelligence reports were things of monetary value to him, especially in dealing with the Saudis and the Russians.  If he could make money off the information, he would and I suspect he did.

Out of Sorts Today, as usual on the day after a bad sleep night.  Plus the weather is really bleak.
