Big days for Peter Charles and his whole family. Anh's FB post:

"Hard to believe our Peter is about to graduate soon — and even harder to believe he turns 18 in a couple days! From joining his first robotics team in 6th grade to winning his team’s MVP "Firsty” award this year, where his teammates described him as a “master robot builder,” his journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

He designed a robot that powered his team through another incredible season, and we’ve cheered him on at the World Championships for four years in a row. We've watched him grow into a true leader, and now… he’s headed to the Milwaukee School of Engineering this fall!

Happy (early) birthday, Peter! The future is your's — and we can’t wait to see all that you will continue to build to make the world a better place!"

I commented:  "I'm so proud of Peter, and of his Dad and Mom for all the support they have provided over many years. The beautiful smiles on all your faces in the photos suggest how very supportive your whole family has been in Peter's long, demanding journey to "Firsty" and 'master robot builder." Bravo!❤❤❤❤ "

Yesterday, I dropped off a birthday card for Peter.  Actually, I gave it to Drew to bring into the hosue  as he got off his school bus.  I included a handwritten letter in which I told him how proud of him I am, and also a check more intended for his use in his first year of college next Fall than simply as a birthday gift.  I'll give him another for his graduation.

I loved the photograph of Andy's family that Anh posted on FB in connection with Peter's "Firstie" award.  I especially loved the proud, happy smile on Andy's face.
