Not a good way to start a new week! I just spent an hour or more working with ChatGPT AI, fixing a couple of vexing problems on my laptop. First, in my Blogger account on Google Chrome, my cursor worked, but when I entered a command- specifically to 'delete' some typos- nothing happened. Then I moved to Microsoft Word, where yesterday I had copied a short essay by Lord Balfour, author of the (in)famous Balfour Document, as an Introduction to a book about Zionism. MS Word wanted to save the document as "Introduction," the first word in it, and I wanted to save it as "Balfour Zionism essay." It wouldn't let me. So I was stymied both in Chrome and Blogger, and in MS Word. As instructed by my brilliant daughter Sarah, I turned to AI for help, and specifically to ChatGPT, my favorite. After an hour or more of trying all kinds of cures, it finally found the effective ones, so I suppose that was actually a good way to start the new week, not a bad one. I'm back in business, but already weary at the start of the day. On the other hand, it sure beats having to travel over to the Apple Store Genius Bar or the nearby Geek Squad at the Best Buy store. I'll count my blessings.😌
Winter is icumin in. My daily outings took me to Walgreens for Gold Bond Powder and MetroMarket for the makings of Geri's homemade chicken broth and some potatoes. It's cold out, with dense overcast clouds and a nasty wind. Definite omens of winter. Brrr.
Not a day for writing. Tired all day despite a decent night's sleep followed by a one-hour nap late in the morning. Semi-brain-dead. A lump in a recliner.
Election hunches. Crowley will lose, as will Al-Sayed in Michigan, and the Dems in KS & ME. Dems win the House, Republicans keep the Senate, 50-50 with J. D. Vance the tie-breaker. Hope I'm wrong.
