1917 70,000 people gathered to see the 'Miracle of the Sun', solar visions reportedly by the Virgin Mary in Fátima, Portugal after prophecies by local children

1988 Shroud of Turin, revered by many Christians as Christ's burial cloth, was shown by carbon-dating tests to be a fake from the Middle Ages

In bed at 9 and up at 5:10.  Let Lilly out at 5:30.  Elllis got up at 6:51.  Geri got up at 7:20.

Prednisone, day 152, 5 mg., day 3/28.   Prednisone at 5:20 Two slices of toasted Deave's Bread w/ blueberry preserves at 6:25.  Morning meds at 6:45.

What the purple clematis flowers become after dropping their petals.

Anniversaries.  I remember being tremendously moved by the Shroud of Turin as a boy.  It turned out to be not what was claimed about it, but one wonders what it was in fact.  The Miracle of the Sun should have been a lesson to the world not to stare directly at the sun.  Donald Trump never learned this lesson.

Lethargy? I can't summon the energy to write anything as of 4:30 this afternoon.  We had Ellis with us until around noon when her Dad picked her up.  I drove up to Saukville to get some black oil sunflower and safflower bird seed, two cakes of suet, and some menthol cough drops.  There was a gorgeous pre-rain sky as I drove north and it was raining steadily when I left the Walmart.  I fought off the temptation to get a Whopper at Burger King and made a sandwich of the leftover meatloaf from last night when I got home.   Geri took Lilly out for a walk using a clothesline rope attached to her leash to permit Lilly to roam a bit without pulling Geri faster than her repaired knee permits.
