Prednisone, day 300, 5 mg., day 11, Kevzara, day 11/14. 2.5 mg. prednisone at 4:40 and 4 p.m. Regular meds around 1 p.m.
Breakfast with Sarah at Maxfield's. She amazes me with her work, her schedule, her stamina. She's in the States for three weeks, one in Austin and two in Middleton. In the Spring, she has a 5-week globetrot: South Korea, Japan, China, Los Angeles, Austin, and Middleton. Rollout of new products. After breakfast, we returned to the house and schmoozed with Geri until about noon. Amazing woman. I seemed particularly old and feeble while with her.
Very tired today, out of sorts, half-alive, but I got an overdue haircut and beard trim with Amy at Sports Clips. I tried to refill the sunflower/safflower tube and one of the suet cake holders but was unable to negotiate the snow between the stoop and the feeders.
Anniversary thoughts. (1) I couldn't resist listing the great Linda Ronstadt hit 50 years ago. Can it possibly be that long ago?!? (2) After the Soviets got their butts kicked in Afghanistan, their country fell apart, literally. Is the same thing happening to the U.S. now that we've had our butts handed to us there? (3) 33 years since the conviction of Dahmer. Dahmer and Gerry Boyle are both dead, as is Judge Larry Gram. DA Mike McCann is still alive at age 88 or 89. After dropping off donations at the Repairers of the Breach a week ago or so I drove through the old Highland Boulevard MU residence hall neighborhood and then drove past Dahmer's old neighborhood. The apartment building where he lived and committed his crimes was torn down a short time after his crimes were discovered. Marquette ended up owning the vacant lot which is still vacant and now surrounded by chain-link fencing.
