We started watching Season 2 of The Morning Show last night. I watched 3 episodes before going to bed, Geri stayed up to watch more. The characters remind me of Oliver Wendall Holmes' description of the U. S. Supreme Court: Nine scorpions in a bottle. I've gotten up to episode 6 and am not enjoying series 2 nearly as much as I enjoyed series 1. The characters all seem darker, more self-centered, selfish, thoroughly unlikeable and also more vulnerable, as if he or she senses (accurately) a Sword of Damocles looming above him or her.
Last night, Trump's lawyers filed their reply to the 40-page DOJ brief opposing the appointment of a special master. The new lawyer, 'knife fighter' Christopher Kise, did not sign onto the brief, but M. Evan Corcoran, the lawyer who reportedly drafted the certification signed by Christina Bobb stating all subpoenaed documents had been turned back to the government. Speaking of scorpions in a bottle, we can imagine the relations between Bobb and Corcoran, both Bobb and Corcoran and Trump, and between Bobb and Corcoran and Trump's attorneys of record in the case, Lindsey Halligan and James Trusty, and with the new presumably lead attorney, Chris Kise. According to this morning's WaPo, Kise signed 'a multi-million dollar' deal for Kise to come on board as "a" lead attorney. Also, that Kise resigned from his law firm, Milwaukee's own Foley and Lardner, where one of his former partners was Cleta Mitchell who infamously was party to Trump's phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger asking him to "find" more than 11,000 votes to make Trump the winner of the 2020 Georgia election.
