Text exchange with Geri:

Hi, Sweetie.  It’s been snowing here all day and it’s expected to continue until 9 o’clock tonight, though only a total of 1 to 3 inches, which is hard to believe.  It’s also very cold and windy.  Tomorrow the high will be 17, and Monday only 12, with a low of 1 below zero.  I’ve had almost nonstop activity at the bird feeders all day, making me glad that I put plenty of seeds out yesterday.   There’s been a constant stream of those pretty little black and white snowbirds (juncos) that normally feed on the ground since the ground is covered with snow.  Before it gets dark, I will get in the car and head to the mailbox.  I had a piece of plain bread with my pills this morning (200 mg. of salt), followed later by a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and peach slices (0 mg. of salt).  I’m supposed to be aiming for <1500 mg of salt per day, which is going to be a real struggle, almost impossible with any processed food.  Trump has imposed a tariff of 10% on all goods imported from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland,  plus ”On June 1st, 2026, the Tariff will be increased to 25%.  This Tariff will be due and payable until such time as a Deal is reached for the Complete and Total purchase of Greenland."  How wrong-headed can this guy get?  How crazy?  He punishes those countries for sending troops to Greenland by imposing a sales tax on Americans!  He’s dead set on destroying NATO.  He proposes to spend probably hundreds of billions of dollars to purchase Greenland when that money could be used to fund health care, child care, education, infrastructure, and other needs here.  All while Denmark is ready to let the U.S. build whatever military bases we want on Greenland. LUNACY.  I hope your visit with Jimmy is too difficult for you today and that you’re enjoying your time with Katherine and Jordan.  💕

I meant “not too difficult”😩

I stayed inside today except for a trip outside to load an abundance of seeds in the tray feeder, plus a drive to the mailbox and to Sendik's for some zinfandel, strawberries, diced tomatoes, and low salt beef stock.
